The installation is under way!
Approximately one third of the organ arrived at Tallowood, and the installation process is under way! The organ arrived on a trailer from Highland, Illinois where the organ was built and assembled.
A group of Tallowood members went to see the organ last year when it was in the factory, and were able to hear part of the organ actually play. Jason Farris, Tallowood’s Organist, and James Kimmel, Tallowood’s Music Intern, played the organ for the group and had fun trying it out! Some pictures below include some of the pipes in the factory as well as the organ console. In one picture, you’re able to see the tallest pipe which is almost 40 feet tall! In another picture, you’re able to see the horizontal tuba that will be mounted above the choir loft.
Some of the other pictures show the organ being unloaded and stored in the new choral and ensemble halls. The larger pipes in the choral hall are pedal reed pipes, and you can even see the multiple organ blowers in the ensemble hall waiting to be moved into the new worship center.
It is a very exciting time for the music ministry at Tallowood!
